Fraser Valley Youth Society
The Fraser Valley Youth Society (FVYS) is a not-for-profit society operating in the Fraser Valley since 2000. We have gone from a group of volunteers running a drop-in group in Abbotsford to a board, staff, and dedicated volunteers running drop-in groups in Abbotsford, Mission, and Chilliwack. We have also expanded to include Youth Advisory Councils at each drop-in location and Education and Awareness presentations throughout the Fraser Valley. We are also the founding organization that hosts Fraser Valley Pride each year with our community partners.
Our main focus is to support 2SLGBTQIA+ and Allied youth in the Fraser Valley. We want to connect them to their community and to supportive, inclusive help if needed.
What We Do
FVYS runs weekly 2SLGBTQIA+ and Allied Youth drop-in centres in the communities of Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Mission. In addition to this, we provide opportunities for personal growth and leadership through our workshops, programs, and community connections.
We are not counsellors, but we are happy to provide you with peer support and connect you with other helping professionals who are open and inclusive.
We facilitate at least one workshop and one group discussion each month. Topics include sexual and gender identity, body positivity, safe spaces and community engagement, and healthy relationships.
